Raipur: Muslim father-son duo forms a chariot for Lord Jagannath's yatra in the city | ABP News
In a unique display of communal harmony, a Muslim father-son duo from Raipur city in Chhattisgarh is making a chariot for Lord Jagannath ahead of the annual Rath Yatra to be held in the city on July 7th. The 17 feet high chariot will weigh 2500 kilograms and will be capable of carrying a weight of 1000 kilos. It comes with innovations like a wooden brake and steering system. The chariot is being prepared with two and a half quintals of Neem and Sarai wood, and will be adorned with intricate carvings. The new chariot is being built after forty years for the Rath yatra in the Raipur. Through this creation, the artists say, they hope to spread the message of brotherhood among people, irrespective of religion.
