Why BJP chose Bhupendra Patel to be the new Chief Minister of Gujarat?
After Vijay Rupani resigned as the Chief Minister of Gujrat, Senior BJP leader Bhupendra Patel has been announced as his successor. According to reports, he was the choice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah. Patel, the MLA from the Ghatlodia seat, held earlier by Anandiben Patel, appeared a surprise candidate for the post. The new Chief Minister will be sworn in this afternoon. Reports further stated that BJP wants to target the Patidar community around this election. Known to be Prime Minister's consistency Gujrat seat holds very high importance in BJP.
