West Bengal Train Accident: President Murmu Condoles Victims, Prays for Speedy Recovery | ABP News

In a post on X, President Droupadi Murmu said, "The news of the loss of lives due to a train accident in Darjeeling, West Bengal is deeply distressing. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured and success of relief and rescue operations." The Kanchanjunga Express suffered a massive accident on Monday when it was hit by a goods train from behind. Initial reports indicated that the goods train ran through a signal near Phansidewa, Jalpaiguri. So far reports of at least 5 deaths have come in. Over 100 passengers are feared to have suffered various degrees of injuries.
