Uttarakhand: Joshimath-Badrinath Highway Closed As Another Landslide Hit State | ABP News
Due to landslides in Uttarakhand, the Joshimath-Badrinath highway has been closed, leaving many passengers and vehicles stranded in Joshimath. The administration is working tirelessly to reopen the highway, but the road remains closed, leaving thousands of passengers stranded. In Joshimath alone, over 3,000 pilgrims have been stranded since last Tuesday. Efforts are underway to clear the debris, and it is expected that the road may be opened by this afternoon. The BRO has broken through the rocks, and now the broken debris and existing rubble need to be removed to prepare an alternative road. Currently, around 3,000 pilgrims are still stranded in Joshimath. Additionally, over 2,000 pilgrims are taking shelter in the gurdwara at Govind Ghat, the first stop of Hemkund Saheb, a Sikh pilgrimage site. Another 1,000 pilgrims who were returning from the Badrinath Yatra have been stopped at the Govind Ghat Gurudwara.
