US is closely monitoring situation at LAC: Mark Esper

US Defence Minister Mark Esper said on Tuesday that the US is "closely monitoring" the situation between India and China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC)

"We are monitoring the situation between India and China very closely, what is happening on the Line of Actual Control and we see this," Esper said.

Amid India's border dispute with China, USS Nimitz conducted a military exercise on Monday with Indian warships near the coast of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
