UP News: Sultanpur Encounter Sparks Political Uproar, Akhilesh Yadav Targets BJP | ABP News
The political debate in Uttar Pradesh over the Sultanpur encounter continues to escalate. Amidst the ongoing war of words between the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the BJP, SP President Akhilesh Yadav has released a graph on X, alleging that the police are conducting encounters based on caste. However, Yadav has not provided details about the source of these statistics. Yadav has used this graph to target the Yogi Adityanath government, claiming that under the BJP administration, there have been 207 fake encounters, with the majority involving people from the PDA (Prajatantrik Dalit Adivasi) community. According to the graph, 125 of these encounters involved PDA individuals. In his statement, Yadav described the graph as evidence of the BJP's misuse of power, highlighting that the data indicates a troubling pattern of unlawful killings and discrimination against the PDA community. The graph shows that out of 207 encounters, 40 were with individuals not classified as PDA, and 42 involved suspects whose data is unavailable. Yadav alleges these encounters were staged. The controversy intensified following the encounter of Mangesh Yadav in Sultanpur. Yadav claims that Mangesh was picked up two days before the encounter, raising questions about the legitimacy of the operation. He alleges that Mangesh was shot at close range and that efforts are being made to alter his medical reports. Yadav has called on the Supreme Court to take cognizance of the matter. The BJP has denied these allegations and continues to refute the claims made by Yadav.
