Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Reveals Opposition Leader's Offer to Become Prime Minister | ABP News
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a significant revelation, stating that during the Lok Sabha elections, an opposition leader approached him with an offer to become Prime Minister. Gadkari, who is the Minister for Transport and Highways, disclosed that a senior opposition leader had contacted him before the elections, proposing support for him to assume the role of Prime Minister. However, Gadkari declined the offer and did not reveal the identity of the leader or the party they belonged to. Speaking at the Vidarbha Gaurav Pratishthan event, Gadkari recounted the incident, stating, “I remember a certain leader, whom I will not name, approached me and said that if I were to become Prime Minister, they would support me. I responded by asking why I should seek your support and why should you support me? Becoming Prime Minister was never my goal.” He further explained, “I am someone who follows a particular ideology and conviction. I am from a party that has given me everything I could have never dreamed of. No offer can tempt me. My steadfast determination is paramount. I believe that having a firm resolve is the strength of democracy.” During his address, Gadkari also encouraged journalists to adopt the same level of conviction in their profession and emphasized that this commitment should be passed on to future generations of journalists. It is noteworthy that in the recent Lok Sabha elections, the BJP emerged as the largest party, although it did not secure an outright majority. However, with the support of its NDA allies, the BJP successfully formed the government once again.
