Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the Union Budget 2024, marking the third consecutive term of the Modi government. She highlighted the government's focus on reducing inflation and addressing the needs of the poor, women, youth, and farmers. Key announcements include a ₹2 lakh crore allocation for youth employment and skill development, with ₹3,000 monthly PF for first-time job seekers for two years. The budget also features ₹10 lakh unsecured education loans for domestic institutions, and training for 30 million youths. Additionally, 1 crore urban and middle-class families will benefit under the PM Awas Yojana Urban 2.0. Sitharaman, India's first full-time female Finance Minister, is set to break former Prime Minister Morarji Desai’s record of presenting the most budgets. The budget aims to bolster infrastructure and social security, with significant investments in rural and agricultural sectors.
