Heavy rain has been lashing Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra. Knee-deep water uprooted trees, power cuts, huge traffic jams are the visuals the Mumbaikars have been waking up to, and this is expected to continue till Sunday.
The India Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms with lightning and moderate to intense spells of rain with gusty winds 30-40 kmph for the next three hours at isolated places in the districts of Palghar, Thane, Raigad, and Mumbai. The IMD advised taking precautions while moving out and asked residents to not stand near large trees.
