In response to the uproar over the Kolkata rape case, the Bengal Assembly's two-day session starting Monday, September 2, will see Mamata Banerjee potentially introducing a bill proposing the death penalty for rapists. She has previously called for the execution of rapists and promised that a bill to this effect would soon be passed in Bengal. The bill is expected to be presented on Tuesday.
