The Supreme Court has halted the anti-encroachment drive in Delhi's Jahangirpuri and has ordered status-quo until next judgment. On the other hand, CPM leader Brinda Karat claimed that the NMCD flouted the orders of the apex court and continued with the razing process.

MCD decided to demolish the illegal houses built in Jahangirpuri. These houses are built on encroached lands. In this regard, MCD sought deployment of 400 policemen from Delhi Police. Many illegal structures were done away during the action.
