TOP Morning headlines | SC To Hear Pleas Challenging Electoral Bond Scheme | 14.10.2022
The Supreme Court will hear a batch of petitions challenging laws capable of issuing election bonds on October 14, which allows anonymous funding of political parties. The bench of Justices B R Gavai and B V Nagarathna will hear the petitions. An electoral bond is a tool of a promissory note or carrier bond nature that can be purchased by any person, company, firm or individuals' union, provided that person or body is a citizen of India or is corporate or established in India. Bonds, which are in many value classes, are released to political parties for the purpose of contributing money to political parties in their current plan in the country.
