Nasiruddin, a resident of a slum, reported being assaulted, stating, "They first demanded my Aadhaar card and PAN card, asking if I was from Bangladesh. The next day, 6-7 people came and beat me up." In Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, there is widespread fear among residents of the slums. Locals from Hansawas Khurd village said they were forced to vacate their slums and added that if the police had not arrived, the situation could have turned deadly. The deceased person's family hails from South 24 Parganas in West Bengal. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has taken responsibility for the victim's family, promising financial assistance. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini commented on the Charkhi Dadri incident, stating, "There are strict laws for cow protection. Incidents of mob lynching should not occur. These incidents are unfortunate."
