Supreme Court to Hear Manish Sisodia's Bail Plea in Delhi Excise Policy Case Today | ABP News
A 3-Judge bench led by Justice Sanjiv Khanna will hear the bail plea of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today in connection with a corruption case related to the alleged excise policy scam. Sisodia, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, seeks to revive an earlier petition seeking bail, which was previously disposed of by the top court. His judicial custody was extended by a Delhi court last week until July 15. Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Sisodia, pressed for an urgent hearing before Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, who assured that the matter will be addressed promptly once procedural issues are resolved. Sisodia faces allegations of fabricating public opinion and subverting the excise policy process, as noted by the Delhi High Court, which had earlier denied his bail plea. He was arrested by the CBI and subsequently by the ED in connection with the case last year.
