Qutub Minar Vs Vishnu Stambh; row intensifies over renaming | ABP News
Two fringe right-wing groups were held outside the Qutub Minar on Tuesday, when they gathered to recite the Hanuman Chalisa, claiming that the 13th-century landmark was originally a Vishnu temple and demanding that it be renamed "Vishnu Stambh" and opened to Hindus for worship. They were unable to reach the monument complex and continued their protest at the neighbouring Bhool Bhulaiya despite considerable police presence. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which manages the cultural site, said no one entered the Qutub Minar complex on Tuesday and that the police had been informed in advance as a precaution.
