Punjab: Farmers stage protest over agriculture ordinance
Hundreds of farmers, angered by the three agriculture bills, blocked major highways in parts of Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday so that they could not be legislated in Parliament.
Amarinder Singh urged the farmers to hold their protest at the central government's gate i.e. in Delhi. He also assured farmers the support of Congress in their fight. The protesters started a sit-in outside the residence of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh in Patiala city of Punjab.
