Pollution took lives of 1 lakh 16 thousand infants in India: State of Global Air Report
A big claim has been made in the 'State of Global Air 2020' global report. According to the report, 16 lakh 70 thousand people have died in India due to air pollution. The grim figures from the year 2019 show that more than 1 lakh 16 thousand infants died. PM 2.5 pollution has been attributed to the death of more than half of the infants. In 2019, India was included in the top 10 countries with the highest PM 2.5 level.
