The Quit India Movement marked its 82nd anniversary recently. On this significant occasion, PM Modi shared a video on social media, paying tribute to the freedom fighters. On the evening of August 7, 1942, a crucial meeting of the Congress Working Committee took place in Bombay. The next day, a large public meeting was held at Gowalia Tank Maidan (now August Kranti Maidan), where Mahatma Gandhi delivered a powerful speech. He famously declared, "Do or die," and urged the British to "Quit India." This rallying cry launched the Quit India Movement, also known as the August Kranti Movement.
