PM Modi Oath Taking Ceremony: PM Modi To Pay Tribute To Martyrs At War Memorial | ABP News
Narendra Modi reached the War Memorial after taking oath and paid tribute to the martyrs. During this time, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was also present with him. This evening, President Draupadi Murmu is going to administer the oath of office to Modi as the Prime Minister. Narendra Modi will take oath as Prime Minister for the third time today (9, June). As soon as Modi takes oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time, he will equal the record of former PM Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. Nehru is the only Prime Minister who remained in office even after three consecutive elections after the country's independence. Actually, BJP could not get absolute majority in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, but NDA alliance has got 293 seats, which is more than the majority figure. A meeting of the NDA Parliamentary Party was held on Friday (7 June), in which unanimous agreement was reached on the name of Narendra Modi. Meanwhile, a meeting was also held between the BJP leadership and allies regarding the share in the Council of Ministers among the various constituent parties of the NDA in the new government. It is believed that apart from important departments like Home, Finance, Defense and External Affairs, two strong ministries like Education and Culture are going to remain with BJP, while its allies may get five to eight cabinet posts. The government has announced on Saturday that leaders of several neighboring countries including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives and Mauritius will attend the swearing-in ceremony. The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday at 7.15 pm.
