He said, "If a maulvi from a madrasa talks about vote jihad, it can be dismissed as his education. But when it comes from a highly qualified family, it becomes worrisome. This path should not be followed." This comment is in reference to Congress leader Salman Khurshid's niece Maria Alam appealing to Muslim voters to launch a "vote jihad" to remove the Modi government.
