Orange Alert In Himachal Pracdesh, Heavy To Very Heavy Rain Expected | ABP News

Heavy Rains in Himachal Pradesh: Heavy rains lashed many parts of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday (July 4), after which normal life was disrupted. Traffic was affected at many places after heavy rains. 85 roads in the state were closed for traffic. The Shimla Meteorological Office has issued an 'Orange' alert on Thursday, warning of heavy to very heavy rains. According to a PTI report, a warning has been issued for thunderstorms and lightning at different places in Himachal till Friday (July 5). Along with this, there is a danger of flash floods in some areas of Mandi, Sirmaur and Shimla districts. After heavy rains, 85 roads are closed in Himachal Pradesh, including 59 in Mandi, 21 in Shimla, four in Mandi and one in Kangra. According to the State Emergency Operation Center, vehicular movement was disrupted due to rain in the state. At the same time, 17 electricity transformers were damaged. A section of the Chandigarh-Manali four-lane highway between Mandi and Pandoh, which had developed cracks on Wednesday, collapsed on Thursday. The authorities were forced to allow only one-way traffic.
