MONSOON UPDATES : Floods hit life in Uttar pradesh, IMD issues heavy rainfall alert | Matrabhumi ( 22.09.2022)

Four children died in their sleep when the wall of their house collapsed in Chandra Pura village under the Civil Lines police station area in Uttar Pradesh's Etawah, late Wednesday night, reported PTI. According to the District Magistrate (DM), Avnish Kumar Rai said the incident also left the children's 70-year-old grandmother Chandni Debi, and a five-year-old sibling, injured. They have been admitted to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Joint Hospital for treatment. 

The deceased have been identified as Sinku (10), Abhi (8) Sonu (7) and Aarti (5) he said.

"Four siblings, three boys, and one girl have died and the compensation will be granted to the family as per the norms," Rai was quoted by ANI as saying.

The incident occurred following continuous rainfall in Etawa for the past 24 hours, senior officials said on Thursday.
