Modi cabinet meeting over MSP underway; increase likely to be announced today

A probable increase in MSP will be announced by the Narendra Modi government today. Right now, a Cabinet meeting is underway to discuss the same.

Earlier PM Modi addressed the nation and talked about the continuation of MSP. He said, "These Bills will empower the farmers to freely trade their produce anywhere. I want to make it clear that these Bills are not against the agriculture mandis. I want to assure every farmer that the Minimum Support Price system will continue as before."
