The Election Commission of India announced the dates for the Delhi Assembly elections on Tuesday, confirming that voting will take place on February 5 for all 70 seats. Along with Delhi, a by-election will be held for the Milkipur seat in Uttar Pradesh. Reacting to the announcement, Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai stated that Congress would contest the Delhi elections with full strength and would form the government. He also confirmed Congress' support for the Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate in Milkipur. SP has nominated Ajit Prasad, son of MP Avadhesh Prasad. Ayodhya Mayor Girishpati Tripathi expressed hope that Milkipur's result would send a positive message nationwide. BJP leader Rakesh Tripathi emphasized that the party is ready for the election to challenge SP's dominance in the region.
