Manmohan Singh Last Rites: Former PM Rites to Be Held with State Honors at Nigambodh Ghat
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be laid to rest on Saturday at 11:45 AM at Nigambodh Ghat with full state honors, as announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday. Singh, who passed away at the age of 92 at AIIMS on Thursday night, will be honored with military traditions as arranged by the Ministry of Defence. Before the last rites, his mortal remains will be placed at the Congress office for public homage. The government has also allocated a memorial site for Singh after a request by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who had appealed to Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. A trust will be established to oversee the memorial's development.
