Manmohan Singh Death: PM Modi Pays Heartfelt Tribute to the Former Prime Minister | ABP News

Dr. Manmohan Singh, the fourteenth Prime Minister of India who helmed the Congress-led UPA government for two consecutive terms, passed away on Thursday at the age of 92 after a brief illness. He had been admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi late in the evening following a decline in his health.  AIIMS officials reported that he arrived at the emergency department at 8:06 PM but, despite all efforts, could not be revived. He was pronounced dead at 9:51 PM. Dr. Singh is survived by his wife, Gursharan Kaur, and their three daughters. Renowned as a scholar, he was widely respected for his modest personality and for his academic, systematic approach to governance. Dr. Singh was the third-longest-serving Prime Minister in India’s history, following Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, until Narendra Modi surpassed his record earlier this year.
