A portion of the balcony of a dilapidated building in Mumbai's Grant Road collapsed today. The building, located near the railway station, may have trapped some people under the debris, according to the fire brigade. Monsoon rains continue to batter Mumbai, causing waterlogging in several areas and creating difficulties for pedestrians and drivers. Traffic has been severely impacted, with the Andheri Subway being particularly affected, submerged under up to five feet of water and subsequently closed. Heavy rainfall has been persistent throughout the day, resulting in widespread water accumulation. A video shows the Andheri Subway completely submerged, and roads in the area are flooded with three to four feet of water, halting movement.
