LS Polls 2024: INDIA alliance rubbishes Exit Poll findings, NDA leaders say, they will get more seats than projected

A day after most exit polls gave the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance a landslide win in the Lok Sabha elections, both the NDA and the opposition INDIA alliance exuded confidence of a favourable result on counting day on June 4th. While leaders of the INDIA alliance rubbished the findings of Exit Polls, NDA leaders said they hope to better the performance predicted in the polls. According to INDIA alliance leaders, they are confident of forming a government at the centre. "Such exit poll results have come earlier also for many states which were wrong. I think each party and their workers should focus on the real counting. This exit poll is a way to mislead people." says SANJAY SINGH, AAP MP. BJP leaders on the other hand are confident of not only bettering their performance of 2019, but also say, the NDA will get more seats than predicted by the exit polls on Saturday. "From the beginning, my party and my party leaders including me used to very categorically say that BJP will come back to power with a record margin. That indications have been shown in the exit polls. I'm more confident that whatever exit polls is expecting, we'll perform better than that," says PRALHAD JOSHI, Union Minister. According to most exit polls, the BJP-led NDA is projected retain power for a third term. Counting of votes for the 18th Lok Sabha will take place on June 4th following the conclusion of seven-phase polling on Saturday.
