LS Polls 2024: Himachal Pradesh Farmers Demand Government Intervention To Make Farming More Viable

Ahead of the single-phase polling in Himachal Pradesh on June 1st, farmers of Himachal Pradesh are unhappy with political parties not paying enough attention to their grievances. They are demanding that politicians should make their demands a key issue in this election. "On the occasion of elections, be it the state government or the central government, on behalf of farmers I want to request that there should be timely implementation of schemes that have been announced in the budget, so that farmers can make use of them on time. As far as priduce is concerned. Pesticides have become very expensive. They are beyond the reach of the farmers," says Farmer. According to farmers, farming is becoming an unviable profession. They say, governments, both at the state and the central level, should proactively intervene to help them get better returns on their produce.
