Lonavala News: Major Accident Amid Heavy Rain in Lonavala, 5 Family Members Swept Away

Woman and 4 Children Drowned in Waterfall: A major accident occurred near Bhushi Dam in Lonavala, Pune, where five people, including a woman and four children, drowned in a waterfall. The police and rescue team have recovered two bodies, while the search and rescue operation continues. Pune SP Pankaj Deshmukh confirmed that all five victims were residents of Syed Nagar, Pune, and belonged to the same family.

The family had gone to Lonavala for monsoon holidays. They were swept away by a waterfall behind Bhushi Dam, known as the Railway Waterfall. The Lonavala City Police team and Shiv Durga Rescue Team are searching for the missing individuals. The bodies of Shahina Parveen (40) and a 13-year-old girl were found, while three children, aged 4-6, are still missing. The incident occurred around 1:30 PM, and search and rescue teams were promptly dispatched.
