Samajwadi Party candidate from Gorakhpur, Kajal Nisad, claimed victory in a media interaction after casting her vote. She also slammed BJP candidate Ravi Kishan for his "I'll leave for Himalaya" statement.
Gorakhpur Constituency of Uttar Pradesh was won by Ravindra Shyamnarayan Shukla, also known as Ravi Kishan, in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections from the BJP party. Rambhual Nishad was the runner-up from Gorakhpur, who lost by 301,664 votes and belonged to the SP. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Polls, Ravindra Shyamnarayan Shukla, alias Ravi Kishan, received 717,122 votes and won by a margin of 301,664 votes.
The 7th phase of polling of LS Elections includes Varanasi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is contesting for a third consecutive term. Polling will be conducted in all 13 seats of Punjab, four seats in Himachal Pradesh, 13 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, nine in West Bengal, eight in Bihar, six in Odisha, and three seats in Jharkhand, alongside Chandigarh.
