Kolkata Doctor Case: Big Impact of ABP News's Operation RG Kar, CBI Now at Ex-Principal's Home

The ongoing turmoil across the country over the rape and murder case of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in West Bengal's capital has intensified. Since the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took charge of the case, the investigation has picked up pace. The CBI has already submitted a status report to the court and is now conducting extensive interrogations with the suspects. The agency is hopeful that the case will be resolved soon. On Saturday, August 24, a polygraph test was conducted on several individuals, including former RG Kar Medical College Principal Dr. Sandeep Ghosh, four doctors who were on duty at the time of the crime, and accused Sanjay Roy. Sanjay broke down when the Sealdah court granted the CBI permission for the test. The CBI plans to continue Sanjay's polygraph test today, Sunday, August 25, to uncover the truth. Doctors in Kolkata have been protesting for over two weeks, leading to disruptions in healthcare services. The state government is trying to end the strike, but negotiations with the health department have not yielded results, as the protesting doctors remain firm. While many doctors' associations across India have called off their strikes, Kolkata's medical facilities continue to be affected. The Supreme Court has appealed to doctors to return to work and assured them of their safety, with a task force set up to monitor the situation. Politically, the incident has sparked significant controversy. The BJP is strongly criticizing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's government, accusing her of failing to maintain law and order in the state.
