In the Haryana Assembly elections, Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat filed her nomination on Wednesday from the Jind district's Julana constituency. Vinesh, who transitioned from wrestling to politics, recently joined Congress. During the nomination process for the Haryana Assembly elections, Congress MP Deepender Hooda from Rohtak and MP Satpal Brahmachari from Sonipat accompanied Vinesh. The deadline for filing nominations is Thursday, with elections scheduled for next month. Later, speaking to the press, Deepender Hooda expressed confidence that Vinesh Phogat would secure a “big win” for the party. He assured that under Bhupinder Singh Hooda's leadership, Congress would achieve a majority in the Haryana Assembly. Hooda remarked, “People have decided that under Hooda Sahib’s leadership, Congress should come to power and BJP should be ousted.” The BJP has fielded former pilot Yogesh Bairagi against Vinesh Phogat in the Jat-dominated Julana constituency. Although Vinesh hails from Balali in the Charkhi Dadri district, her in-laws are from Julana, with her husband Somveer Rathi’s ancestral village being Bakhta Khera. Voting for Haryana's 90 Assembly seats will take place on October 5, with results to be announced on October 8.
