Haridwar News: Robbery Suspect Shot Dead in Police Encounter, Search for Second Accomplice Underway

In a dramatic turn of events near Rani Pur Mod in Haridwar, a police encounter led to the death of one of the two criminals involved in a high-profile heist. The incident occurred at Shri Balaji Jewellers, where the culprits had attempted a robbery worth ₹5 crore. The police engaged in a shootout with the suspects late at night near Bahadarabad in the Dhanoori area. During the confrontation, one of the criminals was shot and subsequently taken to a hospital in serious condition. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead by doctors. The police confirmed that there were two perpetrators, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the second suspect. In the aftermath of the encounter, the police recovered some stolen items from the jewellers' showroom in the possession of the criminals. The SSP of Haridwar visited the district hospital late at night to assess the situation. The owner of the jewellers' showroom was called to the scene to identify the deceased criminal and the stolen goods. The jewellers’ showroom owner expressed his appreciation for the Haridwar police's swift and effective action in resolving the situation. This incident highlights the active response of law enforcement in addressing serious crimes and ensuring justice.
