Hardoi residents build bridge after govt fails to respond to their demands

In Suherdi village of Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi, locals waited for the government to build a bridge for them to cross a river easily. But no action was taken for years. Finally, the locals decided to build a bridge themselves. They gathered bamboo sticks and made a temporary arrangement for all the people who live nearby.
This may be an example of atmanirbharta but surely raises concerns over non-performing govt bodies
