Ek Akela Iss Sheher Mein | A visit to PM Modi's constituency 'Varanasi' | 15 Jan 2022
Varanasi, also known as Kashi and Banaras, is one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. Varanasi, on the banks of the Ganga River in Uttar Pradesh, is one of India's most renowned holy cities. The city takes its name from the junction of two rivers, Varuna and Assi. The term "Kashi" means "to shine," and it is derived from the word "Kas." The bathing ghats along the Ganga's banks are well-known in Varanasi. Pilgrims visit these ghats to bathe in holy water and be washed of their sins. Interesting, Varanasi is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency.
