Delhi News: Top 3 Contenders for the race of Delhi's Next Chief Minister | ABP News

After being released on bail, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed leaders and workers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and announced his resignation from the Chief Minister's post. He stated that his resignation was due to corruption allegations against him. During his address, Kejriwal made it clear that Manish Sisodia would not be the replacement for the Chief Minister's role. Following his announcement, the political temperature in Delhi has risen significantly. Political experts believe that Kejriwal has set the agenda for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Senior journalist Abhay Dubey commented that while it was previously believed that only two people were running AAP, Kejriwal’s extraordinary step suggests a new approach to politics in Delhi for the Chief Minister position. Former editor Ramkripal Singh remarked that Kejriwal is setting an example of integrity. He noted that given the circumstances and how Kejriwal has emerged from them, he has found an opportunity in this crisis. With elections scheduled for February next year, Kejriwal has already set the electoral agenda. He understands that a verdict will not come before the elections, and if the party wins, he will be a leading contender for the Chief Minister's position. In his address, Kejriwal declared that he would resign from the Chief Minister’s post in two days and would not sit in the position until the public makes its decision. He emphasized that he would visit every household and street until a verdict is reached. Kejriwal also targeted the BJP, accusing them of a new tactic where they fabricate false cases against Chief Ministers of opposition-ruled states who have lost elections, leading to their arrest and the fall of their governments. He mentioned that BJP has similarly targeted leaders like Siddaramaiah, Pinarayi Vijayan, and Mamata Banerjee, suggesting that the party routinely uses such tactics against opposition leaders.
