Rajendra Gupta Was Out On Bail, Implicated In Father's Murder Case
The motive behind the killings may be linked to familial and property disputes. Rajendra Gupta, a liquor trader, had more than 18 tenants living in his house in Bhadohi. Notably, he was previously implicated in a case involving the murder of his father and a guard in 1997 and was out on bail.
Rajendra Gupta was reportedly estranged from his wife due to ongoing disputes. It was after his mother knocked on the house door and received no response that neighbours were called, leading to the discovery of the bodies and police arrival at the crime scene.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Gaurav Banswal, the family was murdered when they were fast asleep. Rajendra's mother told the cops that the couple were having a dispute. The police have recovered empty shells of a pistol from the residence, he added, as reported by PTI. The police stated they are trying to find out the motive behind the killings while a probe is underway.
