China will now face fierce competition from Gautam Adani. Adani Group is actually searching for investment opportunities in the neighboring country of Bhutan's Gelephu Mindfulness City. This is a massive township project that will be constructed along Bhutan's southern border.
Lotay Tshering, the recently appointed governor of Gelephu, stated in an interview that the Adani Group, which is owned by the second-richest person in Asia, is among the companies in discussions with the government "at the highest levels" to establish solar and hydroelectric plants in the 1,000-square-kilometer (386 square mile) flatlands of Bhutan where the new city is being constructed.
