Delhi: Locals begin to flee from Anna Nagar after some homes were washed away
Delhi's Anna Nagar slum is barely a few km away from the ITO intersection. Due to incessant rain, the drain flowing through the area saw an unexpected increase in the volume of water which led to the current cutting through the soil in the area. Hence, the ground weakened and many huts collapsed and washed away.
The houses that are intact have also seen cracks in walls. The locals are vacating these houses and fleeing to safer places.
