Dearness or Freebies, what do political parties actually provide? | Ghanti Bajao (25 Jan 2022)

As the Assembly Elections are approaching in the five states- Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur- the political parties have started offering freebies to the voters. However, in contradiction, the dearness in all the states have increased unabatedly in the last few years. The Supreme Court on Tuesday demanded answers from the government of India and the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding the continued "tamasha" of political parties proposing or giving irrational giveaways using public funds.
