Congress MLAs protested against the alleged arbitrary actions taken by ED officials in front of the Gandhi statue at Bengaluru’s Vidhana Soudha on July 23. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, IT Minister Priyank Kharge, and State Home Minister G. Parameshwara were also present. A case was registered against two Enforcement Directorate officials for pressuring a state government officer to “frame” Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the Finance Department in the Valmiki scam.

“BJP is conducting a surgical strike on a democratically elected government in Karnataka. ED officials are pressurising state government officials to name the CM and DCM in scandals they are not involved in. We are not questioning the functioning or investigation of the authority here, but you can’t pressurise government officials to name them (CM and DCM). It’s a scripted investigation that is going on,” said Priyank Kharge.
