Budget 2024: What did the people of West Bengal say to the Finance Minister demanding employment?
West Bengali residents of Murshidabad are hoping that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will include measures in the next Union Budget to increase job prospects in the region. Many locals lament that they are compelled to relocate to other states or even abroad in order to work as manual laborers due to a shortage of jobs in the area.
A local resident says: "We have to go out and work because there isn't any work in the village. We leave the village for two to three months, and when there is no employment available outside, we must go back. A new administration has taken office; if they take action for our community, we won't have to travel."
