Breaking News: Hemant Soren to Take Oath as Jharkhand CM After JMM's Resounding Victory
In the 2024 Jharkhand Assembly elections, the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) defeated the BJP-led NDA alliance. Today, November 28, 2024, Hemant Soren is set to take the oath as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the 49-year-old leader, who will assume the role for the fourth time. However, Soren might be the only minister sworn in today. According to NDTV, the JMM has not yet received a list of ministers from its ally, the Congress. Sources suggest that the cabinet will be expanded next week after the new government secures a vote of confidence. The JMM is expected to retain six ministerial positions apart from the Chief Minister’s post. The Congress is likely to get four positions, and Tejashwi Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will receive one. Meanwhile, the CPI-ML, with two MLAs, will support the government from outside.
