Bihar: PM Modi To Visit Ruins Of Nalanda University | ABP News

A day after his visit to Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bihar on Wednesday. During his visit the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new campus of Nalanda University at Rajgir, Bihar. Several eminent people, including the Head of Missions of 17 Countries will be present during the inauguration ceremony.

The University has a profound historical significance. The original Nalanda University, established approximately 1600 years ago, is counted among the world's earliest residential universities. In 2016, the ruins of Nalanda were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The campus features two academic blocks with 40 classrooms, accommodating approximately 1900 students.

PM Modi's visit follows a political controversy sparked by Bihar JDU MP Devesh Thakur's remarks concerning the Yadav and Muslim communities in his constituency, Sitamarhi. JDU is a partner of the BJP in the NDA coalition.
