On March 16, Bhagwant Mann, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was sworn in as the 17th Chief Minister of Punjab in Khatkar Kalan, Bhagat Singh's ancestral village. He is the state's first non-Akali, non-Congress governor. Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered Mann's oath of office and secrecy at a ceremony attended by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other senior AAP leaders. Now, it will be interesting to know if Bhagwant Mann will be able to fulfill the promises he has made.
