A major security operation has been underway since Saturday evening (November 9, 2024) in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla, Srinagar, and Kishtwar districts, with operations continuing at three locations. Over the past 48 hours, three encounters took place in the Kashmir Valley, and in the ongoing encounter in Jammu's Chenab Valley, four army soldiers were injured, three of them critically. The search operation in Baramulla's Sopore area continued on Sunday (November 10, 2024). During an encounter in Kishtwar, 2 Para Special Forces soldier Rakesh Kumar was martyred, while three other soldiers were injured, and their condition is reported to be stable. In Srinagar, security forces are conducting large-scale operations in the higher regions of the Zabarwan hills, located on the eastern outskirts of the city. At least three militants are believed to be trapped.
