Bareilly Tensions: Hindu Community Disrupts Barawafat Procession, Police Steps In to Manage
In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a communal clash occurred over the route of a Barawafat procession, sparking tensions between two religious communities. The conflict began when one group opposed the procession’s route, citing restrictions they faced during their Kanwar Yatra. Slogans were shouted by both sides, and local authorities had to intervene. The situation led to the deployment of police and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) forces to prevent escalation. After 11 hours of negotiation, both groups vacated the route peacefully.
