Hundreds take out rally on Janata Curfew success, waste efforts to combat coronavirus
In a shocking incident when the central and state machinery is aggressively trying to contain the deadly COVID-19 outbreak, the people in several parts of the country took out a huge rally to celebrate thanksgiving at 5 pm during Janata curfew on Sunday.
With social distancing as the message, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on the citizens to bang thalis and clap from their balconies in solidarity with those who are involved in providing essential services such as health care professionals amid the deepening coronavirus pandemic.
"Follow the instructions being issued by the central government and the state governments. In districts and states where the lockdown is announced, do not leave the house at all. Apart from this, do not get out of their houses unless it is very necessary in the rest," Modi tweeted.
