Massive fire breaks out in Kolkata Medical College and Hospital; 10 fire tenders reach spot
A massive fire broke out in the pharmacy department of Kolkata Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday around 7:40 am. At least 10 fire tenders and Kolkata Police have rushed to the spot. All the patients at the hospital are safe and no reports of loss of life or injuries have came into light so far. The rescue operations are underway and the security personnel are still trying to evacuate those stuck inside. Fire tenders are trying their best to dose the fire and control the situation.
As soon as the fire broke, patients and their relatives rushed out of the building to save themselves. According to preliminary reports, some patients have been shifted to other blocks while others could be seen lying on road. More than 200 people have been rescued so far.
